Day 1: Arrival Hanoi (Dinner at local restaurant) - Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Tursday or Friday

Day 2: Hanoi city tour – Lao Cai (Breakfast at hotel)
Day 2 of your Vietnam discovery starts with breakfast at hotel, followed by a full day city tour starting with the Ho Chi Minh Complex, containing the mausoleum of the nation’s founder Ho Chi Minh, the Presidential Palace, Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts. Close to this site is the One Pillar Pagoda, whose origin dates back to the foundation of Hanoi a thousand years ago. Your tour of Hanoi continues with a trip to the remarkable Temple of Literature, well known as Vietnam’s first university.
After your own lunch, you’ll enjoy a walk around the peaceful Hoan Kiem Lake and through the less peaceful Old Quarter, a bewildering maze of shopping streets and restaurants with an amazing assortment of architecture - traditional tube houses, countless pagodas, artisans’ workshops and cottages, colonial houses and modern concrete edifices. You will see an evening performance of Hanoi's famous water puppets before having a transfer to Hanoi Railway Station for a night train to Lao Cai with your tour guide escort. Overnight on train
Day 3: Lao Cai – Coc Ly Tuesday market – Sapa (Breakfast at local restaurant)
The train arrives in Lao Cai at early morning, we have breakfast at Lao Cai station before driving to Bac Ha, which is 70 km east of Lao Cai. The ride is relatively flat from Lao Cai to Bao Nhai, where we are taken through rural area. We arrive in Coc Ly by the time it is most crowded.
Coc Ly market locates by the Chay River, which flows from China. Every Tuesday morning, minorities from surrounding villages such as Flower Hmong, Black Dao and Tay, gather to sell and buy their products. After visiting the market, we travel by boat downstream on Chay River. Along the way, we can enjoy magnificent sight of the beautiful caves and life on the riverbank.
After lunch en route, we visit Trung Do village of Tay minority, where we can stop by a traditional Tay house for a cup of tea. We will go further downstream until we arrive at Bao Nhai Bridge to get on the car to Sapa. Overnight in Sapa.

Alternative 01: Lao Cai – Cao Son Wednesday market – Sapa (Breakfast at local restaurant)
The train arrives Lao Cai at early morning, we have breakfast at Lao Cai station before driving to Cao Son market, which is 96 km from Lao Cai. We arrive Cao Son by the time it is most crowed.
Cao Son market is the market of Hmong, Phu La, Dao and Black Han minorities group who live in the largest district of Muong Khuong, Lao Cai. They go to the market not only for trading their products but also for meeting friends, eating and even dating. After visiting the market, we drive car to Coc Ly bridge to embark boat downstream. Along the way, we can enjoy magnificent sight of the beautiful caves and life on the rivebank.
After lunch en route, we visit Trung Do village of Tay minority, where we can stop by a traditional Tay house for a cup of tea. We will go further downstream until we arrive at Bao Nhai Bridge to get on the car to Sapa. Overnight in Sapa.

Alternative 02: Lao Cai – Lung Khau Nhin Thursday market – Sapa (Breakfast at local restaurant, picnic lunch)
The train arrives Lao Cai at early morning, we have breakfast at Lao Cai station before driving to Lung Khau Nhin market, which is 67 km from Lao Cai. We arrive Lung Khau Nhin by the time it is most crowed.
Take place every Thursday. Lung Khau Nhin is a small market hiding itself amongst the mountains and forests of the far north Vietnam about 10 km from the border with China. Although not being so big and famous among visitors as Coc Ly and Can Cau, Lung Khau Nhin market is a normal shopping place, play an important role in spiritual life of local ethnic people Flower H’mong, Black Zao, Zay… After visiting the market, we will have a soft trek to Na Cap village of Hmong people before car pick up us to Coc Ly bridge to embark boat downstream. Along the way, we can enjoy magnificent sight of the beautiful caves and life on the rivebank.
After lunch en route, we visit Trung Do village of Tay minority, where we can stop by a traditional Tay house for a cup of tea. We will go further downstream until we arrive at Bao Nhai Bridge to get on the car to Sapa. Overnight in Sapa.

Alternative 03: Lao Cai – Can Cau Saturday market – Sapa (Breakfast at local restaurant)
The train arrives in Lao Cai at early morning, we have breakfast at Lao Cai station before driving to Bac Ha, which is 90 km east of Lao Cai. The ride is relatively flat from Lao Cai to Bao Nhai, where we are taken through rural area. Situated in the mountains in border area, 20 km from Bac Ha, Can Cau is a small, but very colorful market. Opening only on Saturdays, it always delivers a very photogenic display of Flower Hmong, Nung, Phu La ethnic costumes. Chinese people also come for trading. After spending the whole morning exploring the market, your lunch will be served in a local restaurant.
After lunch, you drive downhill for about half an hour. You will then start a short walk to Trung Do village, which belongs to the Tay minority. Here you can stop by a traditional Tay house for a cup of tea before you get on a boat. You will have a cruise downstream the Chay River to experience the picturesque scenes and the magnificent sight of a beautiful cave. The boat ride ends at Bao Nhai bridge, where you get on the car for the journey back to Lao Cai then onto Sapa. Overnight in Sapa.

Alternative 04: Lao Cai – Bac Ha Sunday market – Sapa (Breakfast at local restaurant)
The train arrives in Lao Cai early in the morning, you have breakfast at Lao Cai station before driving to Bac Ha, which is 70 km east of Lao Cai. On Sunday mornings, it is a riot of colors as many different ethnic groups including Flower Hmong, Phu La, Black Dao, Tay, and Nung minorities gather to buy and sell. After spending the whole morning exploring the market, your lunch will be served in a local restaurant.
After lunch, you drive downhill for about half an hour. You will then start a short walk to Trung Do village, which belongs to the Tay minority. Here you can stop by a traditional Tay house for a cup of tea before you get on a boat. You will have a cruise downstream the Chay River to experience the picturesque scenes and the magnificent sight of a beautiful cave. The boat ride ends at Bao Nhai bridge, where you get on the car for the journey back to Lao Cai then on to Sapa. Overnight in Sapa.

Day 4: Sapa – Cat Cat – Lao Chai – Tavan – Sapa (Breakfast at hotel, pinic lunch)
Sapa, at an elevation of 1,500 meters, was once a hill resort of French administrators when the summer heat became unbearable. The remoteness and the simple lifestyle of ethnic minority people are a highlight of Sapa though conditions are basic. After breakfast, you'll enjoy a short walk up to visit Ham Rong mountain, where rare orchids and flowers can be found. In the afternoon, you head to Lao Chai village of the Black Hmong minority and then Tavan village of Giay minority. In between these villages you see spectacular views in this hill country and you'll get the chance to go off the main road and explore. Late afternoon return to Sapa. Overnight in Sapa.
Day 5: Sapa – Matra – Tafin Red dzao village – Lao Cai (Breakfast at local restaurant)
Today is a day of trekking - you start from Sapa on a trail running through the beautiful gardens and lush pine forests, passing through the Black Hmong ethnic minority village of Ma Tra. The walk continues through rice paddy fields and spectacular scenery, stop en route to visit a local school. You continue to Ta Phin village where you can hear about the separate cultural lives of Black Hmong and Red Dao minorities, the 2 largest ethnic groups in the area. In the mid afternoon, you go on to Lao Cai for overnight train back to Hanoi. Overnight on train(Cabin of 04 persons with air conditioning).
Day 6: Morning arriving Hanoi (Breakfast at local restaurant PHO traditional)
When you get to Hanoi station early in the morning, you are met and finish your trip by experiencing Hanoi morning life with Tai Chi practice and the flower market then check in hotel for a leisure day for relax or shopping on your own activities. Overnight in Hanoi
Day 7: Hanoi departure (Breakfast at hotel)
After breakfast you are free to relax until your transfer to Noi Bai airport for your departure flight. Trip ends at Noi Bai airport
